Richard Ahlgren, 70, of West Palm Beach, passed away Monday, May 30, 2017, after a long illness. He leaves his beloved friend, Marylou Ahlgren; his daughters, Ruth (Seth), Laura (Richard); his son, Ricky; three grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Stella; and his sisters, Thelma and Bebe. Richard was born in Bay Shore, New York and moved to Florida where he spent the majority of his life. Richard served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict. He enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged. He had a true love of nature and the outdoors, and the ocean brought him much joy and he shared that love of the water with his children. Inurnment services, with full Military Honors, will held at 9:30 AM Friday, June 9, 2017, at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. Please assemble in Lane #5. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to: Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research; Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County; or Amazing Grace A.L.F. in West Palm Beach.
