- About Us
Northwood Funeral Home & Crematory is situated on U.S. Highway 1 (Broadway), in West Palm Beach. Originally built as a private residence, it was turned into a funeral home in 1950, to better serve the needs of the northern communities. Designed in the Mediterranean style, we have created and atmosphere unlike any other funeral home in the area, and we strive to maintain the building with the highest standards in mind. The moment you enter the home, you are put at ease by the comforting, and inviting furnishings. From the rich mahogany paneling; the Sheraton style furniture of the federal period, with their rich brocade fabric; the genuine Waterford crystal lamps; figural lamps; silk tapestries, and the classic oil paintings, you will see why Northwood has become known as the choice of families who prefer a beautiful and elegant homelike atmosphere. Our main chapel can accommodate one hundred twenty-five people and, if there is an overflow of people, adjacent rooms will be made available for their comfort. All services are piped throughout the funeral home, so at no time will anyone miss a service.
We are conveniently located within close proximity to St. Mary's Medical Center; Hospice of Palm Beach County; Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Palm Beach County Medical Examiner; Good Samaritan Medical Center; Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and Lourdes-Noreen McKeen Residence. Cemeteries are located close by, as well, such as Royal Palm Cemetery; Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery; South Florida National Cemetery; Riverside Memorial Park; Woodlawn, and Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Palm Beach International Airport is located ten minutes to our south. Available to all are the greater conveniences, comfort, elegance, and easy accessibility of this leading institution.
