Larry Dean Hatfield, age 67, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, formerly of Grove City, Ohio passed
away on February 20, 2018 at his home after recently being diagnosed with cancer. He was a retired
Maintenance Manager with ITW. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold J. and Lucille B. Hatfield and sister, Cathy Sue Hatfield. He is survived by his sister, Teresa Hatfield-Densmore and brother-in-law, Bill Densmore. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Bob.
Larry’s fearless free spirit led him to ride his motorcycle alone from Ohio to California to visit his cousin, Danni. Another trip on his motorcycle was taken from Ohio to Florida with close friends. An avid boater, he often ventured out on his boat alone to relish the sun and tranquility of the Atlantic Ocean. His most cherished journey took him to live and work at the Grand Canyon where he experienced many memorable adventures. He loved sending pictures home to share the beauty of the Canyon that he was able to capture. Larry’s mantra was “pay it forward” and it gave him much joy to give anonymously. He was very generous with his time and resources. He paid off lay-a-ways at Christmas and it was not unusual for him to hand money to a stranger. Larry loved to laugh and he had a wonderful sense of humor, making it effortless to make others laugh too.
Larry will be missed by so many that he touched in his professional and his personal life. His kindness will not be forgotten. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life in Grove City, Ohio at a later date.
